This game has been made during an alternative controller game jam. Moreover, it has been selected to be exhibited both at the GDC 2022 and the Indiecade 2022!

What did I do ?

  • Created the original concept & Design Documents,

  • Managed and coordinated the different teams (Arts, Programmers and Designers) in order to meet our deadlines,

  • Level Design (Shaped the player's path).

This game is played on both a television, a physical map of the casino, and an old telephone. To guide his AI partner, the player must give indications of movement ("Go forward and then right.") with the phone using an operational voice recognition technology. Meanwhile, the player has access to a panel of cameras which he can change using physical buttons to have an overview of the casino and thus allowing him to plan out his accomplice's escape while avoiding the guards.

In order to reach out to his accomplice, the player has to find the right phone numbers hidden in old newspaper articles or old advertising posters and then dial them on the phone keyboard. He also needs to plan and follow his accomplice’s movement by using the physical map of the casino which is placed on the desk.

To collect the inputs from both the telephone's keypad and the camera's buttons we use an Arduino card that collects them and sends them directly into Unity.

The casino is in a vintage aesthetic and makes reference to famous movies such as The Italian Job, 007 : Casino Royale or OSS 117. There are also references to cult infiltration and heist games such as PAYDAY 2, Hitman or Metal Gear.

We had a lot of fun exhibiting our game at GDC22 and had wonderful feedback upon it ! This gave us a strong motivation to keep improving it and try to bring it at other events !
